to declare
the Justice Report
(The government and the judges  ... the eight years attack)

The Arab Center for the Independence of the Judiciary and the Legal Profession ACIJLP will hold a press conference in Cairo to declare the Justice Report prepared by the Center under the title: “ the government and the judges .. the eight years attack).

The Report addresses, the attack faced by the judiciary and judges in Egypt for eight years which is the period covered by the report (2000 – 2008), in addition to the resulted attack of serious violations on the independence of the judiciary and the abuse of judicial institutions. In the last section, the report analysis the main reasons behind the harassments - in the reporting period - between the executive authority and the judiciary.

The report also provides for the legislative texts governing the work of judges and the judiciary in Egypt, and the extent to which these texts are consistent with recognized international standards in effect at large scale, and whether to ensure adequate safeguards of judicial independence or not. The report lists many of the recommendations that the center considers that they are ensure the necessary guarantees of independence of judges and the judiciary in Egypt.
